Why geeks hate touchwiz
S7 edge was the first usable phone for me from Samsung. I tried it with high hesitation coming from Nexus line of product and Xperia Z from Sony. Just got tired of all the update problems Google put in their Nexus line past a certain point especially battery life and the overheating issues that plagued the Z line for most of their line up. Mix this with low to non existing off the shelf support when going in any store for an accessory and that was mostly it.
One problem remains though: many of the features Samsung does offer now with this line will never be supported by app developers aside from personal projects of their own. I was under the impression that they were difficult to develop for Samsungs because of lack of open-source drivers for their processors, after about the S3. An upgrade to the Nexus in all respects, even though some changes were merely different. I have always hated TouchWiz. It was ugly, overbearing, complex, and annoying.
CGP Grey once said, in one of his videos : The trick is to keep your identity separate from your opinions. Same could be said of Android vs Touchwiz. Well, not really, since Android 4. Not even Google. Edited UTC. Or feminism, for that matter. David Adams Just like TouchWiz, if Trump were to iterate a bit and over time become less of a garbage fire, then honest people would acknowledge the improvement. Troels I totally agree, i too have the S7 Edge, and i use it with stock software.
Thom Holwerda Stock Nexus, for example, does not allow you to remove the notification that a system update is available. Google finally added true multilingual input to Android late last year. Troels That particular device is a Nexus 7 , and the notification is for Android 5 which makes it unusably slow. Note 3 is probably the best phone I have ever used. We two prefer Sony especially its iconic UI,design, and features that other manufacturers doesn't have..
Acro S definitely looks the part, is this supposed to be the upgrade to the Xperia Arc S from last year. I can't wait to see the official launch of ICS on the S model and what Sony has in store for us come later this year. Anonymous, 30 May I think this website are made for a geek only..
A geek always Also its sad when people say specs are not important just because they lack them Are you trying to imply that only SE is properly optimized? Sony announces the water-proof Xperia go and Xperia acro S Comments.
Also, big screens are so addictive; now I want get a 6. Good luck. The LG G2 has some original ideas, and it could be liked for, but also change is hard, so choose it only after you try it for sometime if possible, and it's size compared to its screen size is astounding it is 5.
Yeah alk and shant! I guess performance is a concern for me! In fact, if a phablet is to replace both my smartphone and my ipad, it has to have a perfect performance and battery life. That's why I looked originally towards the note 3! However, it is still really expensive and for its price one can buy 2 nexus 4 or 2 ipad 4 which is a LOT!
The other problem is that I relatively hate Touchwiz because it's ugly, unconform, idiot sometimes and laggy. But no one can deny that it's really full of features that will make you feel that you won a real SMARTphone! Even though most of these are gimmicks but as you know it's the little things that makes the difference.
I like HTC sense but unfortunately it's almost as plain as pure android in terms of features. LG, I think has done a good job compromising both since its custom skin is light on system with no lags whatsoever and it has some nice cool features. Also LG G2 has probably the best battery life in a phone today! Even better than iPhone 5s and Note 3!
The problem is that is has a relatively small screen and I won't feel that I made a big jump when changing from my nexus 4 to this LG G2. Besides I don't feel it can at least minimally replace a tablet!
